I’ve lived in Del Mar since 1998 with my husband, Tim. My love for this community dates back to the late 1980s, when I was a student at UC San Diego, and where I studied economics and management science. Like many longtime residents, I cherish our distinctive quality of life, not just our great natural beauty, but also our tight-knit neighborhoods and our collaborative decision-making.
I support local policies and programs that help to sustain and protect our distinctive natural character and quality of life, including our scenic views; beaches and lagoons; native landscaping; and urban forest. I will also be a strong advocate for Del Mar in the San Diego region, to advance regional projects that reflect our values and best interests.
I support smart, sustainable growth--including the revitalization of Del Mar’s commercial corridor--while maintaining our unique village character. I will Implement sound budget decisions and exercise prudent financial management on all Del Mar projects, both short and long term.
I value Del Mar’s diversity of perspectives on issues and will work collaboratively with residents, business owners, volunteer committee members and fellow council members, to reach a consensus on the broad range of projects which face our city.
Too many Short-Term Rental Businesses are upsetting our residential neighborhoods. Attempts to regulate them often fail.
Our public funds should be spent on our top priorities and benefit the whole community.
I support solutions that provide faster and more effective police response times and that control the cost of law enforcement.
I will continue to work with regional partners to provide safe solutions.
We already have fail safe processes to deter inappropriate development projects in our commercial zones. We can’t risk losing local control over how large projects are developed in our city.
